La Embajada de México en Malasia celebra el 203 Aniversario de la Independencia de México
La recepción tuvo lugar el 12 de septiembre 2013 en el Hotel Intercontinental de Kuala Lumpur. Asistieron aproximadamente 280 invitados, entre ellos el invitado de honor, el Honorable Dato' Jailani Johari, Viceministro de Comunicaciones y Multimedia de Malasia, funcionarios del gobierno, miembros del cuerpo diplomático, empresarios y la comunidad mexicana radicada Malasia.
En la recepción oficial, el Honorable Dato' Jailani Johari, Viceministro de Comunicaciones y Multimedia de Malasia, propuso un brindis por el bienestar del Presidente de México y el de los mexicanos. Del mismo modo, la Encargada de Negocios, Lourdes Sosa Márquez, brindó por el bienestar de Su Majestad, el Yang di Pertuan Agong (Rey) de Malasia y el éxito y la prosperidad del pueblo y el gobierno de Malasia.
Después del discurso del invitado de honor, la Encargada de Negocios procedió al tradicional Grito de la Independencia.
Los chefs Darrel O'Neal y Carmela de Ponte deleitaron a los invitados con un festín de platillos mexicanos como rajas con crema, carne adobada, tortas de milanesa, tinga de pollo y ceviche estilo Acapulco, mientras que la señora Pamela Cabrera, contribuyó al banquete con tamales.
La recepción fue animada con canciones populares mexicanas y de Latinoamérica interpretadas por un trío de talentosos músicos.
La comunidad mexicana que vive en Malasia, disfrutó la celebración del Día Nacional, en un ambiente patriótico, con comida y bebidas tradicionales, y la compañía de otros mexicanos, ofrecen el ambiente perfecto para pasar un rato agradable en compañía de sus familias.
The Embassy of Mexico in Malaysia celebrates the 203rd anniversary of the Independence of Mexico
The reception took place on the 12th of September 2013 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. It was attended by approximately 280 guests, including the guest of honor the Honorable Dato’ Jailani Johari, Deputy Minister of Communication and Multimedia of Malaysia, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, businesspeople and the Mexican community in Malaysia.
At the official reception, the Honorable Dato’ Jailani Johari, Deputy Minister of Communication and Multimedia of Malaysia, proposed a toast to the wellbeing of the President of Mexico and that of the Mexican people. Likewise, the Charge d’Affaires, Lourdes Sosa Márquez, offered toast for the wellbeing of His Majesty, the Yang di Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia and the success and prosperity of the People and the Government of Malaysia.
After the address of the guest of honor, Charge d’Affaires proceeded to conduct El Grito de la Independencia which is traditionally uttered every year in remembrance of the patriotic harangue with which Miguel Hidalgo summoned the Mexican people to initiate the Mexican quest for Independence on September 16, 1810.
Chefs Darrel O’Neal and Carmela de Ponte treated the guests with a feast of Mexican dishes such as rajas con crema, carne adobada, tortas de milanesa, tinga de pollo and Acapulco style ceviche, while Mrs. Pamela Cabrera, a member of the Mexican community, contributed to the banquet with tamales.
The reception was liven-up by the rhythms of popular Mexican and Latin songs performed by a trio of talented musicians.
The Mexican community living in Malaysia particularly appreciated the festivities of the National Day, for the patriotic atmosphere, the traditional food and beverages, and the company of fellow Mexicans.
